Ava's First Pedicure

Every girl needs her toes lookin' pretty for summer, and Ava is no exception!  I found some pretty pink nail polish with a special super skinny brush perfect for little toes!  When she was napping I quickly painted those little toes, and Voila!  Pretty in pink!

Hunter Graduates Kindergarten

I enjoyed a wonderful morning at Leading Edge Academy, attending Hunter's Kindergarten Graduation.  Our little pumpkin has learned so much this year.  The ceremony began with a slide show, which of course made me teary.  They asked each child what they wanted to be when they grew up, and Hunter's response was a "destruction worker."  Such sweet innocence!  I thought how sweet that really is, he obviously wants to be just like his Daddy!  They also asked what he learned this year, he said he learned to paint (he IS our little artist).  He's grown and learned so much this year!  We are so proud of our Hunter!

Mesquite Grove Aquatic Center

Well it's heating up in AZ...time for water fun!  We had our first of many trips to Mesquite Grove Aquatic Center this weekend.  First of all, this place is the deal of the Season, only $1 per kid, and $2.25 per adult...$8.50 for our whole family!

It's basically a mini water park, complete with zero depth entry interactive water play for the littles, slides for the big kids (including Daddy!), lap pool (who the heck swims laps at a water park?), lazy river (Carson calls them boat races), splash pad, and vortex if you like to swim in circles.

Although the kids and I went last year with Meagan and Emma, this was Daddy's first time...he had a great time!  I was concerned about how Ava would do, with the heat, commotion, splashing, etc.  Well, as always, needless worry, she did great, and enjoyed splashing herself!  Hunter finally worked up enough courage to brave the big slides this year...and now we can't keep him off.

Grandpa Visit

We were excited to have grandpa visit us this weekend!  He was in town for the weekend to attend Jessica's graduation from Law school.  He got to meet Ava for the first time too!  On Saturday we all went down to Tucson for the graduation and after party.  I caught this great picture of a dust devil right next to the highway on the way down!

It was really nice to see Mack, Jessica, Nick and a few others we hadn't seen in a while (bummed we didn't take more pictures!).  The boys had fun swimming, and the food was plentiful.

After we got back home Grandpa took Blake and Logan on rides around the block on the motorcycle (Hunter and Carson chickened out).
Unfortunately the visit wasn't long enough (they never are!).  We look forward to see him again soon.

Kid of Character

At the boys school, they earn character bucks for good behavior.  On Fridays they get to go to the student store and shop.  Sometimes they save up their bucks for a big purchase.  On Friday, when I picked up from school, Logan looked on edge.  I didn't know why, and I decided not to ask until I could get him in private at home or I was sure he was bothered.  Not long after we got home, he came up to me and said, "Mom, I bought you something."  He held up a little box, with a sticker on it that read "40."  It was a necklace, it said "#1 Mom" inside of a heart.  "I spent all of my character bucks on it Mom, the whole 40.  I was going to buy two bags of Water Balloons, but I saw this and decided to buy this instead.  I've been saving for a while," he said.  Pretty sweet, don't you think!

Mothers Day

Mothers Day.  On the day that my kids are giving thanks for me, and all I do...I feel very blessed by the abundance I have been blessed with!  They seem so big to me, but I know one day I will look back, and see their pictures, and realize how little they are.  This year I wanted to take the opportunity to make hand and foot print crafts with them...to try to capture this moment forever.  They came out really precious, and now framed and proudly hang on my wall!

Scott was so sweet, he made my coffee for me, and breakfast too, while Blake, Logan and Hunter unloaded the dishwasher.  So, after I cleaned that up ;)  we had a relaxing day around the house.  For dinner, Scott again took care of everything, making a wonderful dinner, even serving me! As I cleaned that up (there was a lot of clean up this day), I had plenty of time to reflected on just how lucky I really am :)

Home Depot Workshop

Stumbled upon on accident, Home Depot has a monthly workshop for kids.  All for free, the kids get a kit to make a craft.  The boys love hammering, nailing, and painting their wood creations!  They get aprons, certificates of completion, pins...Home Depot really goes all out!

Ava is 6 months

She is full of spirit!  Everyday is more fun than the last, smiles get bigger, laughs get louder, everyday is something new.  This is her first time exploring the crust of pizza, she liked it...A LOT!

Things got a bit messy, but oh so worth it!
